Doubles Up!

Repeating regional rivals Sublime's (Portsmouth) monumental achievement of last year, Mohawks fought their way to the elusive 'double' - winning indoor and outdoor nationals in the same division in the same season. In a weekend of tough competition at University Open Outdoor Nationals in Sheffield, Mo 1 went behind in almost all of their games, only to pull out the comeback time and again, and prove that they were truly deserving of their first seed. Defeating Cambridge's Strange Blue in the final, with some great plays (and astonishing patience against what could only be described as the world's most boring zone), Mohawks proved themselves to be a step above the rest of university ultimate. Special mentions go to Jack Beezer (possibly the most successful captaincy in the club's history?) and Robbie Haines (for winning MVP again), as well as Richard Roberts (for some epic celebrations) and James Attrill (for *that* photo). Well played to all of the boys who represented the club at nationals, and congratulations on an amazing achievement!
